Finnegan's story
Finnegan could be a forward on a rugby team if only someone would form a feline league. This big, very good looking (we might add) orange tabby boy likes to play vigorously. He needs a home where his human companion will play fetch and other exercise-exerting sports with him. Finnegan obviously was someones pet at some point as he was found already neutered, but sadly ended up on the Westside streets. Living on the streets can be tough for a kitty and we are sure Finnegan had to put on his survival fur of armor to purrsevere. He is a big love of a boy who enjoys petting, scratching, and human attention. He is also a curious fellow who likes to explore his surroundings.
So, if you have a place in your heart and home for a big guy in need, please come very soon to OAR to make introductions and shake paws. We think he just might steal your heart. But he will give it back, only much bigger and fuller. Finnegan is hoping hes just the rugby player you need on your team.
Finnegan has tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), a disease that suppresses his immune system. But Finnegan is a perfectly healthy cat, with no signs of being slowed down by FIV! Most cats with FIV live long, healthy lives with no symptoms at all. The disease is not spread through casual contact -- like the sharing of litter boxes, water and food bowls, or through snuggling and playing with other cats. FIV is almost exclusively spread through deep penetrating bite wounds, and a neutered/spayed FIV+ cat is extremely unlikely to infect other cats if properly introduced.
