Food Service Manager ? Anderson Township
Essential Responsibilities
Develop, review, and implement menus that meet the dietary guidelines for Americans and current nutritional recommendations of the USDA and Free Lunch/Breakfast Guidelines
Work with agency staff regarding children with special dietary needs to provide nutrition information or appropriate substitutions.
Maintain Meal Count Sheets, Food Production Records and other necessary reports, and transmit to the Financial Service Office monthly.
Schedule cooks to prepare meals and snacks for clients and staff according to the menu.  Provide backup coverage for all kitchen staff as necessary.
Monitor and maintain a sanitary and safe work environment.
Reviews problems, concerns and staff discipline as needed with supervisor and HR.  Completes required documentation and submits to HR in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Knowledge of food service practices and procedures.
Ability to stay current on USDA and regulatory guidelines associated with educational and licensing entities.
Ability to train and supervise staff in order to maintain a well run food service department.
Knowledge and ability to use computers for food service ordering and inventory management.
Ability to relate to children in a positive manner even when they present undesirable behaviors or attitudes about food.
